Need an Official Docket or Record?
For an official Dare County docket, a certified record, a paper file, a traffic-file question, or help locating a court case, contact the Dare County Clerk of Superior Court. The clerk is the custodian of Dare County Superior Court, District Court, criminal, traffic, civil, estate, small-claims, and special-proceeding files. The statewide eCourts Portal can display public Case Summary information, but the clerk is the source for court-certified copies and for records that are not fully accessible online.

Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The Dare Criminal Division is on the Justice Center's second floor. Court-related records should go to the clerk rather than the county's general public-records process. The clerk's office can direct a visitor to public terminals and can explain the available route for a particular county case file.
This private resource is not a government office. Court staff cannot provide legal advice, and only the court or clerk that holds the file can issue an official or certified record.
